When you need this instead
Post-construction treatment applies in three situations: the building went up without soil poisoning and you now need protection or a certificate; you’re adding to or altering an existing structure; or termites have appeared and you need the problem dealt with rather than prevented.
All three are solvable. None of them are as cheap or as neat as treating open soil would have been, and we would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
How we do it
Because the soil is covered, we have to reach it. That means drilling through the slab, paving or screed at set intervals and injecting termiticide beneath, then trenching and treating around the perimeter wherever the ground is open. Holes are sealed afterwards.
Where the building makes a continuous barrier impossible — and sometimes it does — we’ll tell you where the gaps are and what the realistic options are, rather than issuing paperwork that implies protection we haven’t actually installed.
If you already have termites
Existing activity changes the job. Before we treat, we need to establish what species is present and where they’re getting in, because subterranean termites and drywood termites are different problems with different solutions and a soil barrier only addresses one of them.
We inspect first, tell you what we found, and then quote the treatment that actually fits. If what you need isn’t soil poisoning, we’ll say so — Propserve covers the rest of the pest control range, so we have no reason to sell you the wrong service.
